Five Scenarios for the Future of Recruiting

John Sumser has long been a big thinker for those of us in search, recruiting, HR and human capital.  In conjunction with the upcoming March ERE 2010 Spring Expo in San Diego, John is conducting an interesting experiment through his new website HRExaminer.  I will be curious to see what scenarios they develop, and can’t wait to read the white paper follow up after the ERE 2010 Spring Expo.  You can read more about his project, and get that white paper too, if you participate online:

WSJ Careers website

If you approach your clients and prospects as I do, as a consultant who is always trying to share value add knowledge with them, then you must make the WSJ Careers website a place you browse at least once a month for content you can share with your clients.

For example there was a great article on RETENTION there Oct0ber 26th that I wrote a blog entry about on October 27th.  I also shared the link to this article with a FaceBook newsfeed and a Twitter post.

The Fordyce Letter

I began reading the Fordyce Letter in 1988, less than a year after my career in placement began.  I have been reading it ever since as my career evolved from placement, into blended staffing to engaged executive search.  I try to contribute content when I have time.  Any serious search/ staffing/ recruiting professional reads the magazine monthly and visits the website weekly.

RecruiterEarth

Probably the best social network of recruiters of all kinds.  Built on NING platform, it is a place to see what real recruiters are doing and thinking, and I don’t get there virtually as often as I should, which should be once a week.
